The Guild is in the Bead Soup

Lori Anderson of Pretty Things is hosting her 4th Bead Soup Blog Party and three of our Guild members joined in the fun.  So what is this party all about?  Per Lori:  "I pair up two jewelry designers who send each other a grouping of beads, or "bead soup", and the recipient, who has never seen these beads before they get them, is tasked with making something with whatever came in the mail."

Dana of Dana's Jewelry Design created two pieces from the beauties she received.  On her blog she writes about how someone picking out the beads for her helped her get out of a designing rut.

Kristi of Kristi Bowman Design also created two different items and writes in her post about challenging herself to do an asymmetrical design for the necklace.

Like Kristi, Linda of Linda Landig Jewelry was paired with a lampwork artist.  How lucky are they?!  In her post about the blog party it sounds like she had no creative block as soon as she saw the beautiful beads she'd received.

It's fun to check out the bead soups that challengers sent their partner and how the partner designed a piece or pieces from the many beads and additions from their own stash.  If you're interested in checking out some more, just hop on over to the 4th Bead Soup Blog Party on Pretty Things where you'll find all the participants listed at the end of Lori's post.
